St. Joseph’s Hospice is hosting its first ever sponsored dog walk, Woof in the Woods, this Sunday and are urging the dogs of Sefton and west Lancashire to bark and howl at their owners until they register them for the walk!
Woof in the Woods is a 2km dog walk around the beautiful woodlands at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Thornton, which are now in full springtime bloom with beautiful displays of daffodils.
The star of the event, Bluey, a gorgeous Japanese Tea Cup Toy Poodle, will be there to meet and greet all his canine pals. There will also be a prize for the dog which raises the most money for the hospice.
Registration will be available on the day but please register your dog in advance and try to raise as much sponsorship as you can. It’s just £5 per dog to enter and you can register online at www.jospice.org.uk.
The event will kick of at 9am on Sunday and on street parking is available nearby.
Laura Smith, community fundraiser, said: “We’re really excited to put on an event especially for all the dogs and dog lovers out there so please show your support by registering your dog and joining in the fun this weekend. We hope to see you and your four-legged friends on Sunday.”
