Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is supporting Crimestoppers and the Sunday Mirror, who have joined together to launch an initiative focussing on knife crime called ‘Drop The Knife: You Only Live Once’.

A series of events will be held across the UK aimed at getting communities talking about knife crime and how we can all work together to help prevent more lives being lost.

On Tuesday, June 14, a free session will be held at The Joseph Lappin Centre in Liverpool where people are encouraged to speak about any experiences they may have had with knife crime. There will also be chance to ask questions of representatives from police, local charities and government.

Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner, Jane Kennedy, will be attending together with Head of Operations for Crimestoppers, Adrian Tudway, Founder of the Anthony Walker Foundation, Gee Walker, and Merseyside Police Superintendent, Keith McLachlan.

The event will take place from 6pm to 8pm at The Joseph Lappin Centre, Mill Lane, Liverpool, L13 5TF.
