Merseyside Police can confirm that officers have attended St Ambrose Barlow RC High School in Netherton following a report of an suspicious object today (Tuesday 10 May).
At around 10.15am, a report was received that a pupil had brought an object into the school on Copy Lane. The school evacuated staff and pupils, and police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended.
A cordon was established at the school as a precaution while enquiries were carried out.
An assessment of the object has established it did not pose a threat to safety and pupils and staff have been allowed back into the school.
