The next stage in the preparation of the Sefton Local Plan has now been reached, with the approval of proposed Modifications to the Local Plan by Sefton Council.

Comments are now being invited on the modifications to the Plan which have to be received by August 3. These should be sent by email or in writing to local.plan@sefton.gov.uk or to the Local Plans team at Magdalen House, 30 Trinity Road, Bootle, L20 3NJ.

All comments will be forwarded to the independent Inspector appointed by the Government who is examining the Local Plan, to enable him to produce his final report.

Cllr Daren Veidman, Cabinet Member Planning and Building Control, said: "The Sefton Local Plan was considered at examination hearings earlier this year and the Planning Inspector has indicated that the plan is likely to be found ‘sound’ subject to modifications.

"At this stage we are only seeking comments to the modifications to the Local Plan and not to the Local Plan in general.

"Following this latest consultation, all comments will be submitted to the Inspector and if, as anticipated, we receive a positive final report in the autumn, this will enable us to adopt our Local Plan in early 2017."
